A Guelph male faces impaired driving charges after he was stopped for speeding Thursday evening.
A Guelph police officer pulled the male over for speeding on Willow Road near Bagot Street about 7:30 p.m. After failing a roadside approved screening demand the male was transported to the police station where further tests confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 31-year-old Guelph male is charged with impaired driving – blood alcohol concentration, novice driver having alcohol in his system and speeding. His driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He will appear in a Guelph court April 16.
