Elderly Fergus woman located safe

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON - On Friday October 26, 2018 at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a missing person complaint at Aberdeen Street, Fergus. It was reported that a 75-year-old woman of Fergus had been missing approximately an hour and that she suffers from dementia.

Police attended and because the woman was a client of the Project Life Saver program she was located within the hour. She was at a nearby business safe.

Project Lifesaver is a radio transmitter worn on client's wrists who suffer from a cognitive impairment such as dementia, Alzheimer's or autism. If you are interest in more information please contact P/C Heather Nellis at South Wellington OPP 519-856-1506.
