Fergus resident facing numerous charges including assault, uttering threats

On Jan. 20, 2021, at approximately 11 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a residence on Courtney Street in Fergus. It was reported that an intoxicated male had assaulted and threatened two people in the residence.

All parties were known to each other.

As a result, a 51-year-old Fergus resident has been charged with assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, assault - spousal, assault causing bodily harm - spousal, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm - spousal contrary to the Criminal Code.

 The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on Feb. 23, 2021 to answer to the charges.
