Fire in Morriston being treated as arson

PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP - On Mar. 5, 2017, at approximately 4:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a motorist passing by regarding a structure fire at a vacant building located on Queen Street in Morriston. 

Criminal Investigators from Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Region Criminal Operations, Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) and the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) are investigating the fire as arson and have reason to believe that the fire was set deliberately.

Wellington County OPP are asking that any person that may have been in the area in the early morning of Mar. 5, 2017 that may have seen anyone or have any information regarding this incident to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip on-line at www.csgw.tips. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.

As a result of ongoing investigations into the arsons in Wellington County, Crime Stoppers are offering a minimum reward of $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the responsible person(s).
