Five hundred vehicles checked during weekend RIDE program

Two drivers face impaired charges

On Dec. 7, 2018, Guelph Police conducted RIDE throughout the city of Guelph. Five hundred vehicles were checked, six roadside screening devices were administered, and there was one arrest for over 80 mgs.

Twenty-three-year-old Amy Groulx of West Lincoln Township is charged with drive over 80 mgs after failing the roadside screening device. She will appear in court on Dec. 18, 2018.

On Dec. 8, 2018, a concerned citizen called Guelph Police about a driving complaint on Gordon Street, Guelph. Police responded and searched the area.

The vehicle was located on Woolwich Street and as a result of the investigation, 37-year-old James Houwen of Mississauga is charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mgs.

He will appear in court on Jan. 8, 2019.
