Five people face drug charges

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH - On May 5, 2017, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and OPP West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) executed a search warrant at 335 Wellington Street West in Mount Forest.

As a result, OPP seized a quantity of drugs, drug trafficking equipment and stolen property resulting in charges for five people.

39-year-old Genville Shane Ballard and 38-year-old Kasie Theresa Ballard, both of Mount Forest, were arrested and charged for possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine)contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and possession of stolen property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC). They were held for bail.

29-year-old Scott William Weiler of Mount Forest was arrested and charged for possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine) contrary to the CDSA. He was held for bail.

63-year-old Erik Herbert Friedel and 58-year-old Louise Marie Pitre of Mount Forest were arrested and charged for possession of methamphetamine contrary to the CDSA. They are scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Jun. 6, 2017.
