Five young people arrested in Erin vehicle entries

TOWN OF ERIN, ON – On January 14, 2016 at approximately 12:30 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that five or six youths all wearing dark hoodies were observed going from house to house and entering vehicles and garages on Erinlea Crescent in the Town of Erin. The complainant further advised when the youths were approached they ran off in different directions, some cutting through back yards to get away.  

Officers patrolled the area, located the youths and placed them under arrest.

Four – 16-year-old youths and 1 – 17-year-old youth, all from the Town of Erin have each been charged with Mischief Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code. One youth also faces a Possession of Break and Enter Tools contrary to the Criminal Code.

The youths will appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 1, 2017 to answer to their charges.
