Fleeing male charged with drug possession

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on June 17 police observed a 2003 Acura in the parking lot of a Neeve Street building that had license plates attached to it that belonged to another vehicle.

When police went to speak to a male who had started to walk away, he ran off. During the foot pursuit, the male discarded a box of shotgun shells.

He was run down by police and arrested. A search also revealed that the male was in possession of a quantity of heroin and methamphetamine.

The 22-year-old Guelph man is charged with two counts of drug possession, two counts of breaching a weapons prohibition and use plate not authorized for vehicle. He was held in custody to appear in bail court.
