Four face racing charges

On May 16, 2020, at approximately 5:45 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Highway 6 near Wellington Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a white sedan travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 70 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 120 km/h.

Mogos Hailemolokot 28-years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on Aug. 19, 2020. Their vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

On May 16, 2020, at approximately 7 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Highway 6 near Stone Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed an orange motor vehicle travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 70 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 124 km/h.

Noel Balazs, 21-years-old of Guelph has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on Aug. 19, 2020. Their vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

On May 17, 2020, at approximately 12:35 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Highway 6 near Laird Road. The officer observed a white motor vehicle travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h.

Nadia Saad, 33-years-old of York has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on Aug. 19, 2020. Their vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

On May 17, 2020, at approximately 1:20 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Highway 6 near Laird Road. The officer observed a grey sedan travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 132 km/h.

Mebrahtu Tewelde Isack, 37-years-old of Scarborough has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on Aug. 19, 2020. Their vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
