Four in custody following a break and enter in progress

TOWN OF ERIN - Today at approximately 12:08 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a possible break and enter in progress involving four suspects at a residence located on 17 Side Road in the Town of Erin.

Responding officers set up containment within minutes of receiving the call and after a brief foot pursuit, two males were apprehended.

The Wellington County OPP Canine Unit along with members from the West and Central Region Emergency Response Teams (ERT) tracked the other two suspects over five kilometres prior to them being arrested and taken into custody.

Aerial support was provided by OPP Aviation Services.

The Wellington County OPP Major Crime Unit along with the Street Crime and the Forensic Identification Unit are continuing with the investigation.

More information will be released as the investigation continues.
