On August 18, 2016 at 11:34 p.m., the Guelph Police were called to Cardigan Street for the report of a male committing an indecent act in the vicinity of children.

Indecent act

On August 18, 2016 at 11:34 p.m., the Guelph Police were called to Cardigan Street for the report of a male committing an indecent act in the vicinity of children. The male left prior to police arrival and a search of the area did not locate the man. He is described as white, in his forties, shoulder length curly blonde hair wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a black and red knapsack. He was also riding a black mountain bike with yellow shocks.

Break and enter

On August 18, 2016 at 2:41 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Willow Road apartment building to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) damaged the washers and dryers and stole change.

Break and enter

On August 18, 2016 at 3:51 p.m., the Guelph Police went to two Echo Drive residences to investigate break and enters. The culprit(s) entered the garages at both and in one of them gained entry to the home via the garage. No theft is reported in either incident.

Theft

On August 18, 2016 at 8:01 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Monarch Road business for the report of a theft. Sometime overnight a loaded trailer was stolen from the property. The trailer is described as a 2016 Discovery trailer, plate # M8999Z. It contained vinyl siding, trim, trim coils and a patio door. A possible suspect vehicle is described as an older model Ford Explorer, dark in colour.

Drug arrest at court building

On August 18, 2016 at 8:42 a.m., the Guelph Police were at Provincial Court, 36 Wyndham Street when a male was observed exiting the building and then fill a pipe with what appeared to be Marihuana. As he was trying to light it, police approached and advised him he was under arrest. The male quickly started to move away from officers and was not co-operative with them as he was arrested.

Bradley Hunt, 38 years of Guelph has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, resist arrest and two counts of breach of recognizance.

Theft from cars

On August 18, 2016 the Guelph Police received multiple reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Elizabeth Street, Eramosa Road and several from the underground parking at a Wyndham Street South building.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Property damage

On August 19, 2016 at 4:19 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the area of Bristol Street and Wellington Street for the report of a man damaging cars on the street. As police arrived they observed the man striking the windshield of a car with a baseball bat. The man then saw police, dropped the bat and began to walk away. Police arrested him without incident. In total, four cars were damaged.

A 21-year-old Brampton man has been charged with four counts of mischief under $5,000 and breach of undertaking. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 19, 2016.

In the area of Edinburgh Road at Wilsonview Avenue from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. – 4 tickets issued.
