School Zone speed enforcement–in the area of Victoria Road North from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.  - 6 tickets issued.

Community driven speeding complaint – Speedvale Avenue and Riverview Drive from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. - 7 tickets issued

Speed enforcement – Arkell Road/Summerfield Drive from 10:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. - 3 tickets issued

Remember, unless otherwise posted, the speed limit on city streets is 50 km/hr.

Attempt thefts

On February 11, 2016, the Guelph Police went to two apartment buildings, one on Woodlawn Road East and one on Glenbrook Drive to investigate attempted thefts. The buildings laundry machines were damaged to gain entry to the coin boxes. Both incidents occurred overnight February 10/11, 2016. In both incidents the culprit(s) failed to access the coin boxes.

Drug arrest

On February 12, 2016 at 12:52 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the Tim Horton’s on Woodlawn Road East for the report of a male bothering customers. The man left prior to police arrival but at 2:11 a.m. he returned and once again was bothering customers. Police located the man in the plaza and he was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. A search subsequent to his arrest discovered a quantity of Cocaine.

Justin Parkinson, 22 years old of Guelph, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (C.D.S.A.) and being intoxicated in a public place (L.L.A.). He will appear in court on March 18, 2016.
