Two arrested on outstanding warrants

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Careless driving
On Feb. 20, 2020 at approximately 7 p.m., Police responded to collision involving two motor vehicles near the intersection of Edinburgh Road North and Woodlawn Road West. As a result of the incident, a vehicle as well as a city bus sign was struck and damaged.

The responsible driver, an 87-year-old male, was issued a summons and charged with careless driving. Minor injuries occurred as a result of the incident.

Arrested on warrant
On Feb. 20, 2020, Police attended to an address on Silvercreek Parkway North in response to a male laying down in the vestibule. Police made contact with the male and determined he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching his probation order.

Subsequently a 37-year-old Guelph male was arrested on the strength of the warrant. He was transported to the Guelph Police Service and later released on an undertaking.

On Feb. 20, 2020, a 40-year-old Guelph male attended to the Guelph Police Service to have his fingerprints taken. Police determined that there were reasonable and probable grounds to arrest the male for an outstanding charge of theft under $5,000 and breach probation. Subsequently the male was arrested for the above mentioned charge and further released on an Appearance Notice.
