Guelph Police responded to 232 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Numerous motor vehicles stolen
On Jan. 23, 2020 just before 6:04 a.m., a black 2017 Hyundai Tucson was taken from the driveway of a residence located near the intersection of Edinburgh Road South and Waterloo Avenue in the City of Guelph. The vehicle had been started and left idling in an attempt to warm it up. The vehicle is valued at $25,000.

On Jan. 24, 2020 just prior to 1:20 a.m., a black 2003 Toyota Tundra was taken from a commercial parking lot located near the intersection of Gordon Street and Wellington Street East in the City of Guelph. The vehicle had been left running while the owner quickly ran into a store.

The Guelph Police Service would like to remind the public to always lock your vehicles and never leave an unattended vehicle running.

Female arrested for failing to re-appear in court
On Jan. 17, 2020, an adult female failed to attend her scheduled court date in regards to the following charges:
    •    Break, enter a place commit x2
    •    Possess stolen property under $5,000 commit x2
    •    Possession break in instruments

On Jan. 23, 2020 at 9:01 p.m., police located the female at a hotel located near the intersection of Silvercreek Parkway North and Woodlawn Road West in the City of Guelph and was subsequently arrested.

A 36-year-old Guelph female has been charged with fail to re-appear in court.

She will appear in court on Feb. 28, 2020.
