The following is a news release from Guelph Police:

Mental health apprehension

Just before 11 p.m. on May 1, police were called to investigate when a man broke a window on Delhi Street and ran away. The man then went to an address on Emma Street where he pulled a fire alarm, kicked in a storage room door and barricaded himself inside. It was clear the 38-year-old Kitchener man was experiencing a mental health crisis and after a short period of negotiation with members of the Tactics and Rescue Unit, he eventually came out on his own and was apprehended. He was then transported to the hospital to receive treatment.

Wheels and rims taken in break-in

Sometime overnight on May 31, unknown suspect(s) entered a Malcolm Road yard by cutting through the perimeter fence. Once inside, two Infinity vehicles were jacked up onto blocks and had their wheels and rims taken.
