The Guelph Police Fraud unit investigation around a reported fraud that was occurring between November 2012 and August 2014 has led to charges. It is alleged that an employee of a Guelph area business had misappropriated over $5,000 during that time frame into her own accounts. On March 10, 2016 she was arrested.

Siobhan McLaughlin, 40 years of Guelph has been charged with fraud over $5,000, theft by person required to account, obtaining execution of valuable security by fraud and utter forged document. She will appear in court on April 29, 2016.

Assault

On March 10, 2016 at 5:30 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Marlborough Road apartment in response to a 911 call for an assault in progress. It is alleged that a male and a female friend had been drinking alcohol. When she asked him to leave, he refused and then began punching her in the face and on her body. Police arrived and arrested the male. The female received minor injuries.

A 54-year-old Guelph male has been charged with assault and utter threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 11, 2016.

Break and enter

On March 10, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Silvercreek Parkway South residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered by forcing a window in the door at the rear of the home. A theft of an Xbox and some jewelry is reported.

On March 10, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Waterloo Avenue residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a window in the door at the rear of the home. A theft of a gym bag is reported.

On March 10, 2016, the Guelph Police went to an Auden Road residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a window sometime overnight. No theft is reported but needles and a bag was left behind.
