Just after midnight today, police observed a male riding a bicycle without a light on a downtown sidewalk and stopped to speak with him.

Just after midnight today, police observed a male riding a bicycle without a light on a downtown sidewalk and stopped to speak with him. That interaction led police to learn the man was wanted for outstanding break and enter charges. The man was arrested and a subsequent search revealed a folding knife, a substance believed to be cocaine, a large quantity of marihuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession.

The 28-year-old Guelph man was further charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon and breach of probation. He was held in custody and will appear in court today.
