Guelph Police responded to 208 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Male accused of shoplifting meat
On May 16, 2020 at 3:10 p.m., an adult male shoplifted $83.96 worth of meat from a grocery store located near the intersection of Wellington Street West and Gordon Street in the City of Guelph. [It is alleged that] he shoplifted the four meat items by concealing them underneath his coat and leaving the store.

On May 21 at 7:42 a.m., police found the male at a hotel located near the intersection of Silvercreek Parkway North and Woodlawn Road West. He was subsequently arrested.

A 25-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
    •    Theft under $5,000
    •    Breach probation x3

He was held in custody for a bail hearing later that day, and then subsequently released with a court date of July 31.

Miska 6 tonne dump trailer stolen
Some time between 1 p.m. on May 17 and the afternoon of May 20, 2020, a black Miska 6 tonne dump trailer was stolen from a commercial lot located near the intersection of Arrow Road and Woodlawn Road West in the City of Guelph.

Money stolen during residential break-in
Some time between 7:30 p.m. on May 20 and 2 p.m. on May 21, 2020, a residence located near the intersection of Paisley Road and Edinburgh Road North in the City of Guelph was entered. Entry was gained through an unlocked window and $250 cash was taken.

On May 21, 2020 at 2:01 p.m., a quantity of tools was turned over to the Guelph Police Service. The tools (pictured above) were located along the Speed River.
We believe that the tools are possibly stolen property and would like to return them to their rightful owner.
