In the last 24 hours, Guelph Police dealt with 240 calls for service

The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Brewing up triple trouble
On Oct. 25, 2018, Guelph Police were called to a business on Paisley Road in regard to a theft of over $400 worth of beer, as well as some other items. Loss prevention had recognized the male as he had (allegedly) stolen items the previous two days as well. (It is alleged that) on Oct. 24, the male stole over $430 worth of beer and meat, and on Oct. 23, the male stole over $50 worth of beer.

Police attended to the store and arrested the male as he was attempting to leave in a vehicle.

Robert Atkinson, a 53-year-old Guelph male, was charged with three counts of theft under $5,000. Atkinson is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 4, 2018.
