In the last 24 hours, Guelph Police dealt with 281 calls for service.

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Traffic Stop Leads to Several Charges
On September 13, 2018 at approximately 11:00 a.m., Guelph Police recognized a vehicle from a previous investigation in the area of Woolwich Street and Douglas Street.  Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the male driver.

Through investigation, it was learned that the name the male provided was in fact not him.  As a result, the male was arrested and charged with Obstruct Police, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Break in Instruments, Drive While Under Suspension, and Drive a Motor Vehicle-Fail to Display a Permit. 

John ARCAND, a 27 year old Guelph male, is scheduled to appear in court on October 16, 2018.

Break and Enter – Arrest
On September 13, 2018 at approximately 2:11 a.m., Guelph Police began an investigation into a break and enter into a residential complex on Wellington Street.  Through investigation, police learned of the identity of the responsible male.

As a result, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a 24 year old Guelph male was arrested for Break and Enter, two counts of breaching his Recognizance, and five counts for breaching his Probation Order.  The male is scheduled to appear in court on September 14, 2018.

Three Separate Impaired Arrests
On September 13 and into the morning of September 14, 2018, Guelph Police made three separate arrests or impaired driving. 

At approximately 9:48 p.m., Guelph Police arrested Cameron KULMIES, a 33 year old Guelph male, for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by Drug.  KULMIES is scheduled to appear in court on October 23, 2018.

At approximately 12:43 a.m., Guelph Police arrested a 31 year old male for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Drive Over 80, breach of Undertaking, Drive while Under Suspension, and Fail to Re-Attend Court.  The male is scheduled to appear in bail court on September 14, 2018.

At approximately 3:38 a.m., Guelph Police arrested Jada DENIS, a 42 year old Guelph female for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Drive Over 80.   DENIS is scheduled to appear in court on September 25, 2018.
