Give the kids a brake campaign, intoxicated person call

The following are news releases issued by the Guelph Police Service:

The Guelph Police Service are participating in the annual 'Give The Kids A Brake' back to school safety blitz. 

On Sept. 7, 2017 police monitored the stop sign at Waverly Drive and Windsor Street between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.  A total of 4 tickets were issued.

On Sept. 8, 2017 at 2:31 a.m., the Guelph Police went to Metcalfe Street after receiving a call about an intoxicated male at the front door of a retirement home. Police located the man, investigation discovered that he was breaching a court imposed condition and there was also a warrant for his arrest. 

Police arrested him without incident.

A 42-year-old Guelph man has been charged with fail to comply with recognizance. The charges under the warrant were for breach of probation order and two counts of fail to comply with recognizance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on Sept. 8, 2017.

Over the course of the day on September 6, 2017 the Guelph Police Service responded to 239 calls for service.
