TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 at approximately 8:25 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a golf cart and a minivan in front of the Highland Pines Camp Ground located on Wellington Road 19 in Centre Wellington Township.

Investigation revealed that the minivan was travelling eastbound on Wellington Road 19 when a golf cart crossed in front of its path and they collided.

While speaking with the male operator of the golf cart, police determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device Test (ASD) was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

A female passenger from the van was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
