Guelph canine assists Waterloo – arrest made
On October 20, 2016 at 4:30 a.m. a Cambridge home owner confronted a male who had broken into his residence. The male fled on foot prior to police arrival.
Guelph Police canine General was requested to assist in tracking the suspect. Facing a 25 minute delay the k9 team tracked the suspect for over 1km and located him hiding in a shed. Through investigation police were able to link the suspect to two other break and enters that occurred earlier in the area.
An 18-year-old Cambridge man has been charged with three counts of break and enter. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 20, 2016.
That makes three arrests in 73 hours as a result of a track by Cst. MacArthur and his partner General.
