Guelph driver, 18, charged with impaired driving in Georgian Bluffs

GEORGIAN BLUFFS - On Nov. 23, 2020 at 11:41 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a (grey) pick-up truck on Highway 6 & 21, on the Sunset Strip, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.     

The driver failed a roadside screening device. They were arrested and transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment in Chatsworth for a breath test. 

A breath test, conducted by a qualified breath technician at the detachment, recorded readings that were over the legal limit of 80 milligrams (mg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. 

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Mason Brydges, 18 years of age, from Guelph, ON with operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mg or more, section 320.14(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused's driver's licence is suspended for 90 days and the involved vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to attend Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on Jan. 28, 2021.
