Guelph man accused of breaking sign holder on police officer's head

Assault peace officer - arrest

On November 9, 2016 at 2:12 p.m., a male entered the front office area of the Guelph Police Station downtown and started a conversation with officers at the desk.

The man then become upset and picked up a plastic sign holder, threw it at one of the officers striking him in the head which then broke the sign holder.

The man was arrested without further incident. The officer did not require medical treatment.

Ludovit Nechala, 68 years of Guelph, has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault peace officer and mischief under $5,000.

He will appear in court on December 23, 2016.
