Guelph man accused of impaired driving in Fergus

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Nov. 21, 2020, at approximately 12:25 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver travelling eastbound on St. Andrew Street East in Fergus. 

Officers located the motor vehicle on Wellington Road 18 and while interacting with the driver, determined that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and they were placed under arrest. 

The driver was transported to an OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Timothy Prestipino, 29 years old of Guelph has been charged with impaired operation and impaired operation - 80 plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code.

A 90 day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on Dec. 18, 2020.
