Guelph man accused of stealing a car in Waterloo

Police say the suspect broke into a residence, stole car keys, personal property, and fled the area in the victim's vehicle

The Waterloo Regional Police Service's Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft team arrested a 29-year-old Guelph male in connection to a break and enter and theft of motor vehicle.

On July 22, 2021, between the hours of 2:00 a.m., and 5:00 a.m., the suspect entered a residence in the area of Albert Street in Waterloo.

While inside, the suspect stole car keys and personal property. The suspect then fled the area with the victim's vehicle.

The vehicle and suspect were later located in the area of Laurelwood Drive in Waterloo.

As a result of the investigation the suspect was charged with several offences including break and enter, theft of motor vehicle, five counts of breach release order, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
