Guelph man airlifted to the hospital after a crash involving a skateboard and a truck

A lane on Wellington Street in Guelph is closed following an early morning collision that involved a man on a skateboard and a vehicle. 

The collision happened just before 1 a.m. in the area of Wellington Street, just west of Waterloo Avenue. 

The 33-year-old man on the skateboard sustained head and leg injuries and was airlifted to Hamilton General, his condition is not known. 

The vehicle was driven by a 50-year-old man from Waterloo. 

There is no word on any charges, but police say they will be on scene for several hours to investigate.
