A Guelph male faces several charges following an investigation which involved local and American authorities.

In December the Guelph Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit along with the Department of Homeland Security Investigations entered into a luring investigation where the victim resided in the United States and the accused resided in Guelph.

On Tuesday morning, members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit along with the Technical Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residence just outside the downtown core.  A 27-year-old male was arrested and has been charged with luring, invitation to sexual touching and making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16.

The accused was released with conditions and will appear in a Guelph court July 2, 2021.

Guelph police would like to thanks the Department of Homeland Security for assisting with this investigation.
