Guelph man charged in sexual assault investigation

On Nov. 12, 2018, Guelph Police began an investigation into two separate incidents where a victim was sexually assaulted by a male at a mall on Stone Road.

Both incidents, the victim received unwanted and non-consensual contact from the male party. As a result, Peter Desjardins, a 66-year-old Guelph male has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

Desjardins is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18, 2018.

The Guelph Police would like to remind the public that if you are in a situation and experience unwanted or non-consensual contact from anybody, including people known to you or strangers, get to a place of safety and call police. Aside from the police, there are several resources to assist survivors of sexual assaults.  Remember, “It’s never ok.”
