Guelph man charged with first degree murder

On July 18, 2017 at approximately 12:09 a.m., police responded to an assistance call at a residence on Hasler Crescent in the City of Guelph. The responding officers located a deceased 54-year-old female inside the residence. The circumstances surrounding the death appeared to be suspicious in nature.

The investigation led to the identification of a 27-year-old Guelph male who was located on a City of Guelph bus at 6:17 a.m. this morning where he was arrested without incident for first degree murder.

Police are not seeking any other suspects in relation to this investigation at this time. There are no public safety concerns in relation to this investigation.

The accused will appear in bail court this morning.
