A 23-year-old Guelph man faces a rash of charges, including stealing two vehicles from the same business in the same night.

Guelph Police report that things started on Nov. 8 at 3:20am, when a man took a specialized bicycle tire from a bicycle that was parked out back of a business near the intersection of Edinburgh Road South and Bristol Street. The value of the tire is $127.62.

On Thursday at 3:06 a.m., the man entered a business near the intersection of Edinburgh Road North and Paisley Road. Entry was gained by using a crowbar to  smash the glass out of the front door. The man proceeded to take a cash box, paperwork, cheques and keys to a grey 2006 Ford Escape.

At 3:13 a.m., the man located the vehicle in the parking lot and drove away.

At 4 a.m. he returned and again entered the business. He proceeded to take keys to another motor vehicle, took license plates off a third motor vehicle and drove away.

At 7:33 a.m., police located the suspect walking near the business. He was subsequently arrested.

A search incident to arrest revealed a knife, keys to the second stolen vehicle and cash stolen from the business.

He was charged with:

- Break, enter and two counts of theft
- Two counts of theft of motor vehicle
- Possession of break-In tools
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000
- two counts of theft under $5,000
- Fail to comply with judicial release order

He was held in custody for a Monday bail hearing.

Later the same morning police located the second stolen vehicle with the stolen license plates attached to it parked near the intersection of Edinburgh Road North and Crimea Street. The grey 2006 Ford Escape has not yet been recovered.
