July 25 update

Guelph Police Service confirms Mr. Pierce was a Scout Leader in Guelph for a number of years.

The Guelph Police Service have been in contact with Scouts Canada regarding this investigation.

The alleged offences were not committed in Mr. Pierce’s position as a Scout Leader.

Original July 21 release

On July 20, 2017, after an investigation by members of Internet Child Exploitation unit, Brandy Pierce, a 37-year-old resident of Guelph, was arrested.

Mr. Pierce was arrested and charged with the following offences:
    •    Luring a person under 16 years of age contrary to section 172.1(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
    •    Two counts of making sexually explicit material available to a child, contrary to 171.1(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
    •    Invitation to sexual touching contrary to section 152 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Mr. Pierce was released with strict conditions and is to appear in court on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017.
