Guelph man facing 19 charges in connection with thefts, break and enters in Waterloo Region

The reported incidents occurred over a two-day span this week

A Guelph man is facing a total of 19 charges in connection with multiple theft and break and enter incidents in Waterloo Region this week. 

The 32-year-old has not been named, and offences include possession of stolen property, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance. 

Police said the investigation is ongoing. 

The charges laid relate to incidents that allegedly occurred on Wednesday and Thursday.

March 24:

- Police said at approximately 4 a.m., two vehicles were entered in the Town of Conestogo and personal property was stolen.

- Police said between 4 a.m., and 4:30 p.m., a vehicle parked near Highland Road West, in Kitchener, had its driver and passenger side window damaged and personal documents and tools were stolen.  

- Police said at approximately 4:50 a.m., a vehicle parked on Roseview Crescent, in Roseville was entered and personal property was stolen.

- Police said at approximately 6:30 a.m., a home in the area of Roseview Crescent in Roseville was forcefully entered while the homeowners were sleeping. A motor vehicle, personal property along with a purse containing personal documents were stolen.

March 25:

- Police said at approximately 3 a.m., a vehicle parked along Ann Street in St Agatha was stolen.

- Police said at approximately 3:30 a.m., two vehicles parked near Wilma Street in St. Agatha were entered and personal property including documents and tools were stolen.

- Police said at approximately 4:50 a.m., police recovered the vehicle that was previously reported stolen from Roseville on Lemongrass Street in Kitchener. The vehicle contained suspected stolen property. Through further investigation, police linked the vehicle to the occurrences listed above.

- Police said at approximately 11:50 a.m., police located the vehicle reported stolen from St. Agatha, in the area of Forfar Avenue in Kitchener. A traffic stop was later conducted and the driver was arrested. Police seized suspected methamphetamine and purple fentanyl along with property related to the occurrences listed above.
