Guelph man found with 'significant amount of cannabis,' police say

Officers responded to a call regarding an allegedly intoxicated man who was bothering patrons at a downtown business

On Feb. 15, 2019 at approximately 11:50 p.m., Guelph police were called to a downtown business where there was a report of an intoxicated male bothering patrons. Police located an allegedly intoxicated male that was consuming alcohol on MacDonell. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place.

It is alleged a search subsequent to arrest revealed the male was in possession of a significant amount of cannabis. The 45-year-old Guelph male was further charged with possess more than 30 grams of cannabis under the Cannabis Act.
