On Feb. 11, 2018 at 9 a.m., Guelph Police went to 90 Carden St. for an unwanted persons call. This investigation revealed what police refer to as an apartment takeover. This is where parties take control of an apartment by using violence or threats of violence as pressure tactics for the purpose of trafficking in controlled substances.

Police responded to this request for assistance and initially dealt with two suspects. As a result, a Criminal Code search warrant was sought, granted and executed in an apartment within 90 Carden St.

In total, police arrested three people and seized approximately $6,500 in crystal meth, $250 worth of marijuana, scales, a replica handgun and two bicycles that had been reported as stolen.

A 19-year-old male, 21-year-old male and a 19-year-old female all from Guelph are facing a combined total of 17 Criminal Code and CDSA charges. Charges range from weapons offences, utter threats, breaches and trafficking of controlled substances. All have been held in custody pending a bail hearing on Feb. 12, 2018.
