Guelph Police dog tracks down suspect

A 20-year-old Kitchener woman faces various charges

On August 5th, 2017 around 12:30 a.m., an Ontario Provincial Police officer observed a female acting suspiciously at a gas station just outside the city of Guelph. A female is alleged to have entered a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Waterloo.

OPP initiated a pursuit, which was terminated shortly thereafter for public safety.

At 1:25 a.m., members of the Guelph Police Service located the vehicle abandoned on Haney Drive in Guelph. Police Service Dog General attended and tracked the suspect. The suspect was located a short distance away by PSD General, where she was arrested.

20-year-old Nekime Lidstone, from Kitchener, was charged with Flight from police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Occupant of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Trespass by night, Breach Probation, Breach Recognizance and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

She is scheduled to make a court appearance on August 8th, 2017.
