Guelph police investigation closes Norfolk Street (update)

Dec. 18 update

On Dec. 16 at approximately 6:30 p.m., police were called to Norfolk Street underneath the pedestrian crossover for a person that was found deceased with obvious signs of trauma.

The roadway was closed for approximately five hours for an investigation that determined that this was not a suspicious death.

Police will not be commenting further on this incident.

Guelph Police are currently investigating an incident near downtown.

As a result, Norfolk Street is closed between Waterloo Avenue and Macdonell Street.

There is no danger to the public. This is not a criminal investigation.

Norfolk Street is expected to be closed until approximately midnight.
