Guelph police make six weekend impaired arrests

One of them happened after police came upon a vehicle with a flat tire
drunk drivers

On September 23, 2016 at 10:01 p.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Gordon Street and Arkell Road. Police located the vehicle and its occupants attempting to change a flat tire. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Marc Dunlop, 22 years of Mississauga, has been charged with drive over 80 mg. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with novice driver – BAC above zero.

He will appear in court on October 11, 2016.

On September 24, 2016 at 2:55 a.m., the Guelph Police observed a vehicle driving erratically on Victoria Road North. The vehicle pulled into a store parking lot and a traffic stop was conducted. Police spoke to the male driver, it was determined that he was impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.

Patrick McDermott, 30 years of Mount Forest, has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with novice driver – BAC above zero. He will appear in court on October 28, 2016.

On September 25, 2016 at 1:07 a.m., the Guelph Police observed a vehicle driving erratically on Edinburgh Road South and conducted a traffic stop. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Joshua Mallett-White, 23 years of Brampton, has been charged with drive over 80 mg.  He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with novice driver – BAC above zero. He will appear in court on October 14, 2016.

On September 25, 2016 at 1:42 a.m., the Guelph Police observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on Stone Road and conducted a traffic stop. Police spoke with the male driver, it was determined that he was impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.

Patrick Tanner, 19 years of Hamilton, has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg.  He will appear in court on October 11, 2016.

On September 25, 2016 at 3:20 a.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a possible impaired driver called in by an off-duty Waterloo Regional Police officer. Guelph Police then observed the vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on Waterloo Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. Police spoke with the female driver, it was determined that she was impaired by alcohol and she was arrested.

Shelby Malloy, 24 years of Guelph, has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg.  She was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with novice driver – BAC above zero. She will appear in court on October 21, 2016.

On September 25, 2016 at 3:55 a.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a possible impaired driver coming into Guelph from the Kitchener area.  Guelph Police located the vehicle on Victoria Road and conducted a traffic stop. Police spoke with the female driver, it was determined that she was impaired by alcohol and she was arrested.

Catherine Lauzon, 30 years of Guelph, has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg.  She will appear in court on October 11, 2016.
