Guelph Police respond to 17 calls for service resulting from power outages

No signal lights should be treated as a four-way stop, reminds police

On July 20, 2019 between 9 and 10:30 p.m., the Guelph Police Service responded to 17 calls for service ranging from fallen down trees, hydro outages and traffic lights out due to the storm. The power of over 300 houses were affected from the powerful storm.

Please remember these rules when traffic signals are not operating:

  • No signal lights – Should be treated as a four-way stop.
  • Flashing red – Should be treated as a stop sign.
  • Flashing yellow – Proceed with caution, only when traffic permits.
