On May 24, 2020 at 2:50 a.m., Guelph Police responded to a report of a male entering vehicles on Caledonia Street near College Avenue in the City of Guelph. 

A male resident of the area located an unknown male entering his motor vehicle and removing items. The unknown male was confronted by the resident and fled on foot. The unknown male was located by police a short distance away and placed under arrest. The male was found to be in possession of several stolen items. 

A 46-year-old Guelph male was charged with the following criminal offenses:

  • Theft under $5,000  
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Fail to comply with judicial release order
  • Breach probation – 2 counts
  • Possess Identification documents
  • Possess stolen credit card

The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
