Shoplifting – Arrest

On August 9, 2018 at approximately 3:21 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a business on Eramosa Road in regard to a shoplifter.  It is alleged that the male stole several items and left the store without paying for the items, and when approached by security, fled the area.

The male was identified and on Friday, August 10, 2018 at approximately 9:55 a.m., the male was observed walking near the downtown and was arrested for Theft Under $5000, Escape Lawful Custody, and breaching his Probation Order.  Frank LEBLANC, a 27 year old Guelph male, appeared in court on August 10, 2018.

Impaired – Arrest

On August 10, 2018 at approximately 2:40 p.m., a male party was driving his vehicle in the area of Edinburgh Road and Willow Road when he lost control of his vehicle, and struck a hydro pole. There were no injuries as result of this incident.  Police attended to the scene and spoke with the male.

After speaking with the male, he was arrested for Impaired Driving and Over 80.  Alfredo RUIZ, a 29 year old Kitchener male, is scheduled to appear in court on August 31, 2018.

Person Stop Leads to Arrest

On August 10, 2018 at approximately 10:56 p.m., Guelph Police observed a male exiting a store on Woolwich Street who was breaching a curfew condition.  The male was spoken to and it was confirmed he was breaching his curfew condition.

A search incident to arrest revealed that the male was found to be in possession of a prohibited knife.  Kevin FABIAN, a 48 year old Guelph male, was charged with two counts of breaching his Recognizance, two counts of breaching his Probation Order, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order.  FABIAN appeared in court on August 11, 2018.

Wanted Male – Arrested

On January 14, 2018, Guelph Police entered into an investigation in regard to a vehicle speeding on Downey Road.  When police attempted to stop the vehicle, the vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed and did so in a dangerous manner with several other vehicles in the area.  Police did not pursue the vehicle and a warrant was obtained for the male.

On August 11, 2018, with the assistance of the Wellington County OPP, the male was arrested and turned over to Guelph Police.  As a result, Pavle DIMIC, a 46 year old Guelph male, was charged with Flight from Police, Dangerous Driving, Drive Disqualified, as well as two Highway Traffic Act Offences. DIMIC is scheduled to appear in court on September 25, 2108.

Male Breaching His Conditions

On August 11, 2018 at approximately 10:08 p.m., Guelph Police observed a male, who was believed to be breaching a curfew condition, leave the area of downtown in a cab.  Through investigation, it was learned that the male was at an address on Dovercliffe Road and police attended to the location.

As a result, Eric PATTERSON, a 24 year old Guelph male, was arrested for breaching his Recognizance as well as breaching his Probation Order.  PATTERSON appeared in court on August 12, 2018.

Cause Disturbance – Arrest

On August 12, 2018 at approximately 1:49 p.m., Guelph Police were called Herb Markle Park on Cardigan Street in regard to a male who was naked and meditating.  Police attended to the park and through investigation, a male was arrested for Causing a Disturbance.

Peter HOLM, a 29 year old Guelph male, is scheduled to appear in court on September 18, 2018.

Transportation Fraud – Arrest

On August 12, 2018 at approximately 11:01 p.m., Guelph Police were called in regard to a male not paying for his cab fare.  As a result of speaking with the driver, a male was arrested.

A 33 year old Guelph male was charged with Transportation Fraud, as well as three counts of breaching his Probation Order.  The male will appear in court on August 13, 2018.
