Fergus woman charged with impaired driving

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On April 24, 2018 at approximately 4:10 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a white SUV on George Street East, Town of Fergus.

While speaking with the driver, the officer formed the opinion that she was impaired by alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Forty-nine-year-old Elizabeth Fleming of Fergus has been charged with driving with over 80mg of alcohol per 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on May 22, 2018 to answer to the charge.
