Guelph woman charged with impaired in Muskoka

Police say the vehicle left the road and ended up in a swamp

MUSKOKA – A Guelph woman has been charged with impaired driving after a vehicle went off the road and into a swamp on Saturday near Bracebridge.

Bracebridge (OPP) say the incident happened on Muskoka Road 169 in Muskoka just before 4:30 p.m.

Police, along with Muskoka EMS and Muskoka Lakes Fire Department responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision. The involved vehicle left the roadway and went down an embankment into a swamp area. The driver was transported to hospital with minor injures.

Subsequently police arrested a 29-year-old Guelph woman with impaired. The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge in July.
