Guelph police are asking residents of a downtown-area neighbourhood for assistance after several residents reported having Halloween decorations smashed Saturday night.

Approximately 10:25 p.m. Saturday officers were dispatched to an address on Boult Avenue where decorations were damaged. As police arrived, they were approached by residents of two other addresses on the same street to report their decorations damaged as well.

Other callers reported seeing a male carrying a piece of wood smashing decorations on York Road and Audrey Avenue.

The incidents are under investigation. If anyone else in the area had their property damaged and have not yet spoken to police, or has surveillance video which would be helpful, they are asked to call Constable Brad Townsend at 519-824-1212, ext. 7123, or email him at [email protected].
