Hanlon driver impaired by drug

On Aug. 21, 2019, at approximately 11:30 p.m. an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped the driver of a black pickup truck on the Hanlon Expressway in the City of Guelph. The officer had observed the motor vehicle being driven in an erratic manner.

While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was impaired by a drug. A Standard Field Sobriety Test (S.F.S.T) was conducted to wit the driver performed poorly. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (D.R.E.).

As a result of the investigation, Kyle Douglas TAYLOR, 34-years-old of Acton, has been charged with Impaired Operation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on September 27, 2019.
