Hiding driver draws police attention, numerous charges laid

A Kitchener woman faces several charges after her attempts to hide drew the attention of a nearby Guelph police officer.

Police were patrolling along Silvercreek Parkway South just after 8 p.m. on Sunday when they spotted a driver who appeared to be trying to hide, a police news release explains. A check of the vehicle’s licence plate revealed it was reported stolen from another jurisdiction.

The woman allegedly provided police with several false names and dates of birth. A search subsequent to arrest turned up small amounts of suspected crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl.

A 34-year-old woman was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, occupying a stolen motor vehicle, obstructing police, driving without a licence and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
