$3,000 in damage caused during hit and run

On June 3, 2019 at approximately 5:07 a.m., Police responded to a hit and run located in a private parking lot on Waterloo Avenue.

At 5:37 a.m., a 35-year-old male was operating a motor vehicle and was observed to accelerate across the parking lot and collide with the victim’s parked vehicle, pushing the vehicle onto the sidewalk and causing extensive front end damage.

The suspect fled the scene, however the front licence plate from his vehicle was left at the scene. The victim’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 damage.

On June 15, 2019 at approximately 2:35 p.m., the suspect surrendered himself to police and was subsequently arrested for failing to stop after an accident. The accused was issued with an appearance notice with a court date of July 30, 2019.
