Motorists are again reminded to obey school bus signals after a Guelph male was charged Wednesday morning for passing one with its stop arm fully extended.
Guelph police were on proactive patrol Wednesday morning in the area of Speedvale Avenue East and Stevenson Street North. There have been several recent complaints in the area of motorists disregarding school buses with their signals activated.
About 8:30 a.m. the officer saw a motor vehicle westbound on Speedvale Avenue drive past a stopped eastbound school bus that had its lights flashing and stop arm activated.
A 64-year-old Guelph male is charged under the Highway Traffic Act. He faces a $490 fine and six demerit points.
