Impaired charge laid after pickup crashes into parked vehicle in Elora

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On June 9, 2019 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on East Mill Street in the village of Elora. Initial reports indicated that a black pickup truck had struck a parked vehicle and that the driver was possibly impaired.

While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Victor Jimmy Holmes, 51 years old of Elora, has been charged with impaired operation and impaired operation - 80 plus (mg of alcohol in 100mL of blood).

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 9, 2019.

On June 9, 2019, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on the Hanlon Expressway in the City of Guelph. At approximately 2:30 a.m., the driver of a passenger vehicle entered the R.I.D.E. check.

While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Jarad Wilson, 29 years old of Guelph has been charged with impaired operation - 80 plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on July 12, 2019.

While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

As a result of the investigation W. Jacob Misiaszeck, 37 years old of Brampton, has been charged with impaired operation - 80 plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on July 12, 2019.
